The Breastplate of St. Patrick is layered with great prayers and text. After singing Orff’s Carmina Burana I was inspired by the bass parts and minor motive’s that were haunting and powerful. I used this prayer because it is one of my favorites. I dedicated this to my choral director in college, Dr. Charles Canaan as he was the first choral director I had who introduced me to so many great texts and prayers.
