Todd Krier is a dedicated music educator and passionate choral director whose journey began in Emery, South Dakota, where he graduated from high school in 1997. He went on to study choral music under Dr. Charles Canaan at South Dakota State University, earning his Bachelor of Music Education in 2002. He later completed his Master’s in Music Education at the University of South Dakota in 2005.
Todd was honored as Teacher of the Year at West Central High School in Hartford, South Dakota, where he taught K–12 vocal music for three years. After moving to Albuquerque with his wife, Kelly, he continued his teaching career at Eisenhower Middle School and later served as Director of Choral Activities at Eldorado High School for four years.
Upon returning to the Midwest, Todd directed the Lincoln Continentals Barbershop Chorus for five years. Currently, he serves as Co-Director of Choral Activities at Pius X High School in Lincoln, Nebraska. There, he shares his deep love for music and Catholic faith by directing the Men’s Choir, Sotto Voce (Advanced Mixed Choir), and the acaFellas Barbershop Group. He also leads the school’s Barbershop Club, encouraging young singers to grow in confidence, community, and musical skill.
Outside of school, Todd actively serves in music ministry at St. Joseph’s Parish and sings with his barbershop octet, Paternal Instinct.
Todd’s mission is to inspire others to use their voices to bring joy, beauty, and truth into a broken world. Every choir, every song, and every sacred space offers a chance to encounter something greater—and perhaps, discover a song that speaks directly to your soul.
God Bless, and every voice matters.
